The World Crazy Golf Championships (WCGC) 2024 is all set to take place starting tomorrow, June 7, 2024, and fans can check out all the competition details below along with the schedule and prize money pool

This year’s competition marks the 21^st edition of the tournament and it will feature 162 players from across nine countries.

World Crazy Golf Championships rules

Given below is a full list of rules for the upcoming competition:

Playing order

Each player will play the hole in turn for rounds 1 to 6. The order will remain the same for each round (holes 1 to 18), and only the final round will have players playing all the balls.

Scoring

The competition has an interesting scoring format where players do not score for themselves. Player 3 will score for player 1 while player 1 will score for player 2, and then player 2 for player 3. Each player has a 6-shot limit on each hole and if a player does not hole out after 6 shots, they will score 7.

Tee Off and Shot Time

There will be 3 distinct Tee off areas for each hole and players will have a maximum of 30 seconds for each shot. Player are not allowed any practice shots throughout the event once the official practice ends each day. Players will be allowed to get up to 22cm relief from the hole borders (edges). Besides that, there is no other relief allowed and players must play the ball from where it lies.

Specific Hole Rules

Given below is a list of hole specific rules:

• Hole 2 – When the ball fails to reach the green, player will tee off again
• Hole 5 (Windmill) – player tees off again if the ball fails to pass the windmill off the tee
• Hole 7 – player tees off again if the ball fails to reach the lower green
• Hole 8 (waterwheel) – player tees off again if the ball fails to pass through the waterwheel.
• Hole 11 – when the ball fails to pass through the obelisk, player tees off again
• Hole 16 (the mini jump) – in the event that the ball drops into the ditch and rolls under the overhang, players can reposition the ball up to 22cm from either side of the ramp
• Hole 17 (Lighthouse) – in the event that the ball fails to pass through the lighthouse, the player tees off again
• Hole 18 – player tees off again if the ball fails to pass through the entire loop the loop.

Scoring and Play-offs

When the scores are equal for final places, ‘aces’ will be used, but if the scores are still level, then ‘difference’ will be used to settle them. If players are tied for any of the prize money places, they will contest in a sudden death playoff from hole 1. Only odd number holes will be used in such cases.

Other Rules

• No smoking or vaping on the course.
• All mobile phones to be switched off or silent.
• Only active players and tournament officials are allowed on the course whilst play is in progress.
