USA were the last to win the tournament and are the favourites this time, alongside the Dominican Republic and Japan.
2023 World Baseball Classic
The 2023 World Baseball Classic will kick off in March across the United States, Dominican Republic, Japan, and Puerto Rico. This year, the tournament will feature 20 teams competing for the title. This year’s edition was originally supposed take place in 2021 but got postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2023 WBC opener will begin in Taiwan at 11 p.m. ET on March 7. There will be a total of 47 games in this year’s edition with the championship game set for Tuesday, March 21 in Miami.
Players to watch out
The 2023 World Baseball Classic will feature plenty of MLB stars including Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto, Mike Trout, Julio Rodríguez, Francisco Lindor, and Trea Turner.
