The World Athletics Championships 2023 is taking place at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest.
Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis begins title defence
Going into the competition, the world record-breaking pole vaulter is one of the top favourites to win a gold in the ongoing competiton. The Swede will start off his campaign on day five of the Budapest 23 World Athletics Championships. Duplatnis has won 11 out of the 12 competitions held so far in this season. Back in February, he improved his own world record to 6.22m. Now, with Duplantis heading into the event with excellent conditions at the National Athletics Centre this week, he could further improve that mark.
