The prize money that winners will get at World Athletics Championships 2022 has been revealed
The eighteenth edition of the World Athletics Championships has already started on 15 July and will continue till 24 July. This year the competition is taking place in Eugene, Oregon, USA. The competition will feature some of the world’s best track and field athletes competing for the honour of prestigious medals. Around 1900 athletes across 192 countries are taking part in this year’s competition.
World Athletics Championships 2022 Oregon Winner Prize Money Breakdown List
The winners will also be rewarded with prize money, the question here arises how much money will they receive? for sure, the amount will be lesser compared to the sponsored one but its still a good chunk of change. All athletes will receive the equal amount of money if it is faster, stronger or higher in their respective event.
But there is a criterion for it; athletes will have to finish within the top eight spot in their event, or else they will have to go home with empty handed.
Apart for it, a massive amount of $100,000 will be given to an athlete that will break the IAAF world record and wins the gold medal at Eugene. This prize money is sponsored by electronics firm TDK.
