Here’s how I guessed the answer to Wordle 285 in four guesses today. First, I guessed the word ‘AUDIO,’ which gave me the letter O in the word, but it is not in the correct position. I then wanted to guess a word with an E in it, so I chose the word ‘STORE,’ which also places the O in a different position and uses letters that I had previously guessed.
Unfortunately, none of the letters in the guess appear in the word of the day, and the O was not even placed correctly.
This led me to believe that the word had a double letter and that the O was the second letter, so I guessed ‘HOLLY.’This was an excellent guess because it correctly positioned the O, L, and Y while also indicating the presence of a L in the word. Because it is not the third position, the Wordle must begin with an L. This leaves only one unknown letter, but based on the remaining letters, it was very easy to guess the answer to Wordle 285, which is…
