Whether it be Men’s games or women’s it is getting equally popular among the fans. T20 leagues across the globe like WBBL, and The hundred are also promoting female cricket. BCCI also took the initiative of launching the Women’s T20 Challenge to promote Women’s cricket in India.

How many teams are there in the Women’s T20 Challenge?
The tournament has 3 teams consisting of 4 foreign players per team. Three teams are led by India’s star players Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Madhana, and Deepti Sharma. The final can be viewed live on Star Sports 1,Hindi/HD and Disney+ Hotstar.
Tournament Format
The tournament is played in a round-robin format. The three teams will face each other only a single time. The top 2 teams will play a final game to decide the winner of the tournament.
Women’s T20 Challenge over the years
In the inaugural season of the Women’s T20 challenge in 2018, there were only 2 teams featuring in the tournament. The two teams were named IPL Trailblazers and IPL Supernovas. There was only a single game that was won by Harmanpreet Kaur’s Supernovas.
In 2019, a full-fledged 3-team tournament took place in Sawai Mansingh stadium of Indore. It was again won by Harmanpreet Kaur’s Supernovas.
In 2020 The tournament was played in the bio bubble of UAE which was won by the Trailblazers.
In the challenging conditions of 2021 unfortunately the Women’s T20 challenge couldn’t take place.

To conduct a big event like the Women’s T20 challenge you need sponsors. BCCI announced My 11 circle as the title sponsor of the Women’s T20 challenge by successfully going through the bidding process.
