PV Sindhu advanced to the Syed Modi India International badminton championship 2022 semi-finals with an incredible comeback victory over Supanida Katethong on Friday
Sindhu was overjoyed with the victory, as she moved closer to breaking her title drought, which began in 2019. Sindhu, who was beaten by Katethong in the India Open last week, gladly repaid the favor this weekend on the court.
PV Sindhu needs to win the Syed Modi International not only for the USD 150,000 prize money, but also to end her title drought at the BWF level. Since winning the World Championship in 2019, the Indian ace hasn’t won a title on the tour. Sindhu will be keen to set the record straight after so many near misses in 2021, after winning a second Olympic medal last year.
