The second-highest bid came at INR 912.99 crore came for the Mumbai team, followed by bids of INR 901 crore by Royal Challengers Bangalore, INR 810 crore for the Delhi team, and INR 757 crore by Capri Global, for the Lucknow team.
Women’s Premier League (WPL) start date
According to various sources, the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 will likely start from March 4 to 24. Arun Dhumal, the chairman of IPL stated:
With regard to [the venues for the] first season, we are still talking. That is work in progress. We will have to see logistical challenges involved in case it [WPL] has to be multi-city value or single-city value.
The WPL will be using some of the men’s IPL grounds, as such, the BCCI has planned for a week’s gap between the WPL final and the start of the men’s IPL.
Women’s Premier League WPL 2023 auction date
As of now the WPL 2023 auction date has not been fixed. However, the event will likely take place in the first few weeks of February.
Auction purse
This year, the WPL team owners will have an auction purse of INR 12 crore each.
WPL 2023 squad limit
BCCI have stated a minimum limit of 15 players and a maximum limit of 18 players for each squad. Each team will have a maximum of 6 overseas players can.
Starting XI overseas players cap
The WPL rules state that there will be an overseas cap stating a maximum of five non-Indian players (4 overseas and 1 from Associate nation) in the starting XI.

WPL 2023 format
The BCCI has announced that the first edition of the WPL will be a 5-team tournament. Each team will play against the other team twice, which means that the league stage will feature 20 matches. Once the league phase ends, the top ranked team will directly qualify for the final. The other finalists will be decided via eliminator rounds between the second and third-placed sides.

As of now, the BCCI haven’t announced the final schedule for the WPL 2023.
