On Sunday, hosts Japan triumphed by a score of 21-0 at the 2023 Women’s Hockey Junior Asia Cup thanks to their outstanding offensive performance against Indonesia. With their second consecutive victory by twenty-goal margin, Japan have asserted their status the overwhelming favorite to lift the title. Kazakhstan opened their campaign on a good note by defeating Hong Kong 3-0 in another Group-B match. Among the other games played on Sunday, Malaysia defeated Chinese Taipei by a score of 7-0, and South Korea crushed Uzbekistan 13-0 to take first place in Group-A.
According to the official schedule, it is confirmed that India will play against Malaysia on Monday with an attempt to overtake South Korea as the Group-A leaders. In its victory over Uzbekistan, the Indian team checked all the right boxes and dominated play the entire time. During their first game, India had as many as eight goal scorers, and they will now want to carry that energy into their second encounter against Malaysia.
