The tournament will feature the best women’s curling teams from around the world competing for the world title.
Much to the delight of fans, all the winners of the past three editions will all compete to defend their crown against the 12 other competing teams.
2023 Women’s Curling World Championships format
The 2023 Women’s Curling World Championships event will kick-off with a round-robin format. Every team will play against each other once following which the top six teams will advance to the playoffs.
The first and second teams will receive byes to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, the third, fourth, fifth and sixth teams will compete against each other in qualification games for the semis.
During the qualification rounds, the third-ranked team will play against the sixth, while the fourth and fifth-ranked teams will face off against one another. The two winners of these games will then advance to the semi-finals.
The two winners of the semi-finals will then face off against each other in the final match. Meanwhile, the other two teams will compete against each other for a bronze-medal match.
