The 20-person Hockey India team for the 2023 Women’s Asian Champions Trophy has been revealed.

The Indian women’s team, fresh from their bronze medal in Hangzhou during the 2023 Asian Games, is still in a good mood. They are ready for another tough and thrilling contest against their competitors on the continent.

Sushila, the captain of the Indian team during the Olympics in Rio, was a member of the team that won a bronze medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games last week, but, the press announcement confirming her absence from the ACT squad did not specify whether it was due to an injury or if she had been cut.

Savita Punia, the Indian team’s skilled custodian, will set the example as captain, while dependable defender Deep Grace Ekka will serve as vice-captain.

When and where will the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2023 begin?

India’s campaign will begin on October 27 against Thailand. There will be matches versus Korea, Japan, China, Malaysia, and China afterwards. The semifinals and final are scheduled for November 4 and 5, respectively. The competition will take place which will take place at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astro Turf hockey stadium in Ranchi.

In a vibrant ceremony at Project Bhawan in Dhurva, Ranchi, Jharkhand, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, unveiled the mascot for the upcoming Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2023 and ‘Juhi,’ the mascot, takes inspiration from the beloved elephant at Betla National Park.

Event Dates: Scheduled to take place from October 27 to November 5.

Participating Teams: The tournament will witness competition between India, Japan, China, Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Team Leadership: Savita will lead the Indian Women’s Hockey Team as Captain, with Deep Grace Ekka serving as the vice-captain.

Opening Match: India will kickstart their campaign in the tournament against Thailand on October 27.
