The Indian women’s hockey team secured this title with goals by Sangita (17′), Neha (46′), Lalremsiami (57′), and Vandana Katariya (60′). This victory marked India’s second Women’s Asian Champions Trophy hockey title, the first of which they won in 2016.

Hockey India has announced a reward of Rs 3 lakh each for all the players and Rs 1.5 lakh each for all the support staff of the winning team of the Jharkhand Women's Asian Champions Trophy Ranchi 2023.

2023 Women’s Asian Champions Trophy India vs Japan final score, match events, winner, & other details
In the opening quarter, Japan displayed a solid defensive performance, but as the second quarter began, Sangita Kumari’s goal gave India the crucial advantage. Before scoring the goal, she received the ball in open space, took a couple of touches, and executed a diving finish. Following a goalless third quarter, India managed to secure their second goal in the final quarter. Lalremsiami and Vandana Katariya then netted two late goals, sealing India’s triumph.
Meanwhile, China clinched the bronze medal by narrowly defeating a resilient Korean team 2-1 in a closely contested rematch of the Asian Games final, where both teams continually exchanged control during open play. For China, Chen Yi scored an early opener before South Korea’s An Sujin restored parity with a goal in the 38th minute. However, China clinched the win thanks to a stellar goal by Luo Tiantian in the 47th minute.

In 2023, Zhong Jiaqi clinched the title of the leading goal scorer at the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy with seven goals to her name. Hockey India will grant a prize of Rs 3 lakh to every player and Rs 1.5 lakh to each member of the support staff from the victorious team.
