The ACC (Asian Cricket Association) has announced that the Women’s Asia Cup will be played in Sylhet, know the 2022 schedule and venue
The Men’s tournament is just about to begin in the upcoming 4 days now the ACC has announced the Women’s fixture too. The last time when the Women’s Asia cup was held was in 2018 in Kuala Lumpur which was won by Bangladesh. Now Women’s Asia Cup 2022 is set to begin on the 1st of October.

Women’s Asia Cup 2022 is set to begin on the 1st of October just after the Women’s T20 world cup qualifiers
The 8th edition of the Women Asia cup is scheduled to take place a few weeks after the Women’s T20 world cup 2023 qualifiers. The qualifiers of the World cup will be played in UAE. Bangladesh and Thailand will take part in the WT20 qualifiers and then in the Asia cup as well.
Women’s Asia cup 2022 will have 6 teams
The 2022 Women’s Asia Cup will be held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Bangladesh, from October 1 to 16, with seven teams competing in the tournament.
Among the seven teams set to play, UAE and Malaysia booked their berths through the qualifying route after entering the final of the 10-team ACC Women’s T20 Championship. UAE, undefeated and champions in that competition, defeated the hosts Malaysia in the final by five wickets.
The 8th edition of the tournament will be played in T20 format. India, Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, UAE and the Host Bangladesh are the 7 confirmed teams. India is the 6-time winner and the most successful team in the tournament. The women in Blue who just missed out on a gold medal in CWG 2022 would like to bounce back. Bangladesh is the runners-up of the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 and the Host nation as well.
ICC announced their first women’s future tours program on Tuesday
The FTP consists of 301 international matches in the cycle of 2022-2025. Women’s fixtures through the 3 years will have 7 tests, 159 T20I’s, and 135 ODI’s. ICC has allotted October’s window for the completion of the Women’s Asia Cup 2022.
England will 5 test matches in the upcoming 3 years followed by Australia who will play 4. India and South Africa are the 2 other test-playing nations that will play 2 matches each.
Bangladesh will host its first-ever major women’s cricket tournament
Sylhet will be having the responsibility of holding the Women’s Asia cup 2022. It will be the first-ever major tournament in Bangladesh. The BCB Director gives full assurance of the smooth conduct of the tournament. He said, “Ground 1 of the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium is where we are looking to host the Women’s Asia Cup matches and Ground 2 is where the training will take place.” he added “As host nation, Bangladesh has delivered several major men’s and women’s continental and world events in the past,”
