Afrobeat superstar Ayodeji Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid, caused a storm on the social media platform X/Twitter on Monday after he took jabs at fellow musician Davido and Mavin Records’ founder Michael Ajereh, widely known as Don Jazzy.

Following his provocative tweet, Wizkid became a trending topic on X, ranking at number 4 on Nigeria’s trend list.

For the unfamiliar, recall the incident where a video of Davido on his knees, pleading with an American mistress for some “intimate time” in another room, made the rounds on the internet.

This was the same clip that Wizkid shared on his X/Twitter account, using it to tell his fans what they should do for him to release a new track.

Wizkid posted a message after his fans asked him whether he would release his upcoming album “Morayo” or at least drop a new track from the project because they were eager for new music.

In the caption of his viral post, Wizkid joked that his fans would need to beg him on their knees like Davido did while crying before he would release anything.

This tweet quickly stirred up a lot of discussions, leading Wizkid to eventually make a sarcastic remark aimed at Davido and Don Jazzy. The social media user is now criticizing Wizkid’s acts as they are pointing out their opinion and speculations.

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Hailing from the Ojuelegba area of Surulere in Lagos, he is a key figure in the Afrobeats genre, which has gained global recognition.

His music style Is an eclectic mix of Afrobeats, Afropop, R&B, afrobeat, reggae, dancehall, and pop. Wizkid started his music career at the age of 11, releasing a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group he formed with friends from his church.
