In the previous chapter of Wish Upon A Husband, we saw Veldemere ask Renea if anything had happened at the guild, Renea thought for a moment and then said that a maid tried to steal the โGem.โ Taking advantage of the situation, she attempts to learn more about the Gem from Veldemere.

Renea explained that the Red Gem she used to summon him belonged to the guild but vanished after she granted her wish. With this context, Veldemere deduces that she must be referring to the โBloody Sapphire,โ which fused with his blood and only when he absorbs it does life return to his veins.
Veldemere looks up at Renea, flirting with her as he tells her that the Bloody Sapphire would look best on her as a necklace. Renea is agitated, and they are about to kiss when Shapiro interrupts, infuriating her. The next day, she returns to her mansion and devises a strategy to teach Veldemereโs familiar, Shapiro, a lesson for constantly interfering with their happy newlywed life.
The scene then cuts to Shapiro, who is worriedly asking Veldemere if there is anything he can do to help. However, Veldemere declines his offers, believing that he must do it on his own to become an exemplary husband whom Renea adores.
