We have already witnessed some amazing and exciting events along with many athletes already bagging the medals at the Winter Paralympics 2022, know the medal table

The 2022 Winter Paralympics has already begun and when it comes to the Olympic and Paralympic events, some of the world’s best athletes participate in the men’s and women’s events across the sporting events that take place in the Games.

The 2022 Winter Paralympics has started on the 4th of March and, will continue till the 13th of March, 2022.

Winter Olympics Beijing 2022 Events And Medals On Offer

This global Paralympics sporting event is spread over 10 days with many athletes who are participating in 78 different events spread across six sports which are divided into two disciplines: snow sports which include alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, biathlon and snowboarding, and ice sports that include Para ice hockey and wheelchair curling.

The Para-Nordic skiing event has the highest number of medal events with 38 medals, which is going to be followed by the Para alpine skiing event with 30 medals, then comes snowboarding with 8 medals, and one each for the Para ice hockey and wheelchair curling. From all the events that are going to happen at the 2022 Winter Paralympics 39 events are for male athletes, 35 are for female athletes and four are mixed events.

Alike the 2022 Winter Olympics, the 2022 Paralympics is happening in China’s capital Beijing and its territories. All the sporting events are played at six venues in the three competition zones of central Beijing, Yanqing, and Zhangjiakou.

Since the Winter Paralympics 2022 has already begun and the athletes have already started to take home medals, let’s have a look at the medal tally so far –

Ukraine was leading the scoreboard as concluded day one of the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics being the table-toppers of the overall leader board after clinching seven medals which include three gold medals. But now, China is leading the Scoreboard so far with sixteen medals overall which include six gold medals, 4 bronze medals, and six bronze medals.

China is followed by Ukraine as they dropped a position down with seven medals in total with 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal.

Then, in the third position, Japan stands with 4 medals in total with 2 gold medals and 2 bronze medals.

The fourth position is taken by two gold medals in total as they are yet to win any silver or bronze. Next, at the fifth position is Austria with four medals with 1 gold medal, two silver medals, and one bronze.
