The Winter Olympics in 2022 will feature a record 2,871 athletes and 109 events spread over 15 disciplines in seven sports. Men’s and women’s big air freestyle, women’s monobob, mixed team competitions in freestyle skiing aerials, ski jumping, and snowboard cross, and the mixed relay in short track speed skating will be among the seven new medal events.

Winter Olympics Beijing 2022 Schedule, Dates And Venue

2022 Winter Olympics will run from 4th February, 2022 to 20th February in Beijing and other venues situated in Yanqing and Chongli, China. Some events will start on 2nd February, which is before the opening ceremony.

Medal Events for luge, skeleton, bobsleigh, and alpine skiing will take place in Yanquing district. China will run all 26 venues including training venues solely on renewable energy.

Countries in Winter Olympics

91 NOCs qualified for 2022 Winter Olympics including debutants Haiti and Saudi Arabia. From Kenya, one athlete qualified but due to her withdrawal, Kenya won’t participate in the tournament. Canada, ROC and USA will be represented by more than 200 athletes. Around 170 athletes will represent hosts China while only one athlete will represent India.

Bermuda, Kenya, North Korea, Singapore, South Africa, Togo, and Tonga participated in 2018 winter Olympics but won’t participate in 2022 winter Olympics due to various issues. Meanwhile, American Samoa, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, Virgin Island, Haiti, and Saudi Arabia will contend in 2022 winter Olympics after absence from 2018 winter Olympics.

Tickets And When And Where to Watch: Live Stream And Telecast Of The Winter Olympics 2022

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, China government won’t sell any tickets for residents outside mainland of China. However, China announced an adapted program which will invite guests to watch the match and cheer for their team.

In India, there is no official broadcasting of the Winter Olympics. The USA fans can enjoy all the events of Winter Olympics on NBC. Fans residing in UK can enjoy the event on BBC/ Eurosport. Local Chinese fans unable to go to the stadium can enjoy the show on CCTV/Migu.
