Wimbledon 2022 Women’s Singles Favorites, Predictions, Players List, Betting Odds

1- Iga Swiatek

Iga Swiatek has to be listed #1 on this list, of course. She holds the top ranking in the world, recently won the French Open, and now has a 35-match winning streak. It goes without saying that this is really amazing. She has been going through a very good tennis season this year but it is to be seen if her game has traditionally adapted well to the grass. This still makes her the overwhelming favourite, but there are a few heavyweights who could give her some trouble this year.

While some players might challenge her, It still can’t be seen how Swiatek can be defeated right now. The Polish professional is a heavy favourite for the championships.

2- Coco Gauff

One of these “heavy hitters” who might put Iga Swiatek to the test is Coco Gauff. Additionally, Gauff currently has 11.00 odds to win Wimbledon. In fact, just a few years ago, when she was 15 years old, this is where she had her significant breakthrough. She recently advanced to the 2022 French Open finals, demonstrating her prowess as a player. And in contrast to some of the others, her game does adjust to the turf rather nicely.

She has a powerful forehand and can crank up her backhand as well and it is expected that the American teen will continue to do wonders on grass as well.

3- Ons Jabeur

One Jabeur recently won the German Open title defeating Belinda Bencic, who is also one of the heavy favourites for the grass tournament. The African No. 1 has beaten top players this season and she has also shown her ability on the grass in Germany.

Jabeur has some great advancements where she also reached the final of the Italian Open and Charleston Open before she was defeated by Iga Swiatek and Belinda Bencic respectively. She also won Madrid Open defeating Jessica Pegula.

The Tunisian player also progressed to several quarterfinals this year and is expected to continue with her consistency.

4- Simona Halep

People frequently overlook Simona Halep’s history as a Wimbledon champion. She won the title in 2019, so while her success on clay courts is well known, she is also quite talented on grass courts. Having said that, Halep hasn’t exactly been unbeatable lately, which is why her position in the world rankings has dropped to 19. She is still the third favourite with odds of 13.00, nevertheless, according to her prior Wimbledon performances.

5- Belinda Bencic

Belinda Bencic began her season in Sydney, where she beat Océane Dodin and Beatriz Haddad Maia en route to the quarterfinals. Bencic won over Veronika Kudermetova and Kaja Juvan in St. Petersburg before falling to eventual champion Anett Kontaveit in the quarterfinals.

Bencic competed in Miami as the 22nd seed, and she advanced to her first Miami quarterfinals. Her first-ever Miami semifinal appearance came after she defeated Daria Saville. She was defeated by eventual finalist Naomi in the semifinals.

Quite a good advancement. She recently reached the final on the grass court in Berlin before losing to Ons Jabeur and at Charleston Open 2022 the Bencic defeated Jabeur to clinch the title. She has shown her ability recently on grass and is expected to continue with her form.
