With the Met Office issuing a yellow weather warning, here is the Wimbledon 2021 weather forecast as The Championship came back on 28th June after a year-long hiatus
The weather for the Grand Slam tournament is expected to be humid with rainy spells as the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning. It has been said that the “scattered torrential thundery downpours may bring some impacts, such as flooded roads.” This could cause travel delays and impact the speed of the courts. While the main courts are safe due to their retractable roofs, play could be interrupted in the open courts.

What happens if it rains during Wimbledon this year?
Once it starts raining, the current point will be drawn to an end by the umpire. In the meantime, the ground staff will wait at the side of the court. Once the umpire confirms that the play is postponed, the staff will will swiftly draw down the net and rush across the grass with the covers.
If it rains during a match on a smaller court, schedules are simply pushed back so that the delayed matches can be accommodated. On the other hand, if the same happens during a match on the Centre Court or Court One, the roof will continue and play will continue after half an hour after the air circulation is adjusted to generate the ideal indoor climate.
