The lead singer for Soul Stars Delfonics and co-founder of R&B/soul group, William Hart, died on Thursday, July 14th, at the age of 77, know his cause of death, wife and net worth
The tragic news of his death was confirmed by his brother and co-founder bandmate Wilbert Hart via social media. His brother took to his Facebook and wrote a heartfelt message.

The sad news of the singer and songwriter’s death comes months after Iconic ‘Blade Runner’ composer Vangelis died in May 2022 at the age of 79. Another musician Meat Loaf also left us in January 2022 at the age of 74.
A Grammy winner county vocalist Naomi Judd also died in April 2022 at the age of 76 due to mental illness. Recently, another young DJ artist from Houston DJ D Baby also died after falling from a balcony. She was just 21-years-old.
How did William Hart Died?
According to a statement given by his son to TMZ, the 77-years-old singer was having trouble breathing and thus, he was urgently taken to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, where he took his last breath.
According to his son, the singer died due to complications during surgery. William was fondly called “Poogie” by his close ones.
William was best known for his famous songs like, “I’m Sorry, Break Your Promise, La-La (Means I Love You), Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This Time), and ‘Ready or Not Here I Come (Can’t Hide from Love)”.
The Grammy-winner lead singer has written most of his group’s biggest hits which are later used as iconic melodic tunes. William’ songs “Didn’t I and La La” were also featured in Quentin Tarantino’ films “Jackie Brown”.
Few other movies and series like Crooklyn, The Family Man, also used the music of The Delfonics. Their single ‘Funny Feeling’ was featured in a video game called ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ on the radio station 91.1.
After learning the tragic news of the demise of William Hart, his fans have flooded the social media app, Twitter with condolences and tributes.
One emotional user took to his Twitter account and wrote, “R.I.P. William Hart, lead singer of the Delfonics. A falsetto icon who helped put Philly Soul on the map”.
