Recap
The previous chapter begins with Ayari waking up from a recurring dream sheโs been having for the past few days.
To her surprise, Kingo has fallen asleep with his head resting on Makotoโs shoulder. Additionally, the director is found sleeping on the floor near Makotoโs feet, only to wake up and check his height growth.
After putting on his squad uniform, Kingo is subjected to a mandatory video that all newcomers must watch, but they eventually skip it after a few minutes. The director has already accepted Kingo as a member without subjecting him to the usual selection process. However, in exchange, he asks Kingo to prove his worth.
Makoto is detained at the base by the director for a discussion. Before venturing into the Forbidden Zone, Kingo is provided with his own prune spear.
Upon entering a rundown library, Ayari and Makoto are drawn to a peculiar anomaly in the books, causing them to lose consciousness and collapse. Kingo, unaffected like the others, encounters the Jinka responsible for the anomaly.

Chapter 9 will pick up where the previous one left off, delving into the newly revealed Jinka, which exhibits peculiar librarian-like behavior driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge.
