Lionel Messi achieved everything in his career but was not yet enlisted in the book of greatest players of all time because of never winning a major title with his country but that is not the case anymore. He led his national side to Copa America glory after failing thrice on the same stage before.
He was robbed of many Ballon d’Or previously main reason being not able to achieve anything with his country but the jinx is broken now and he has finally proved that he is still the greatest player of all time and we are the few fortunate ones who are able to witness the brilliance of Argentine forward.
He will definitely win the Ballon d’Or this year as he was the competition’s top goal-scorer winning the golden boot and was directly involved in Argentina’s 9 goals in the tournament. He also won the La Liga golden boot as he was the highest goal-scorer in the League.
International Success At Last
After waiting for a long time and losing three finals of the Copa America and one World Cup final his time has finally come as he guided the Argentine team to Copa America glory. His first Copa America final loss came against Brazil which was a surprise for everybody. In the same year, he won an Olympic Gold.
His second and third Copa America loss was because of Chile who defeated them in the penalty shootout on both occasions. It was an incredible feeling when he finally lifted that trophy which has denied him international recognition.
