“I know it was tough to maintain me with it for as far as you did after my neck injury knocked me out of the ring, and I appreciate it.”
“I’m not saying I’ll never fight again. That day will undoubtedly come again! Everywhere the return may be.”
Paige has announced her departure from the WWE after more than a decade with the organization. But she has stated that she hopes to return to the ring someday.
The 29-year-old, whose wrestling narrative was so unique that it was made into the 2019 film “Fighting with My Family,” announced the heartbreaking news on her Twitter page on Friday.
Paige made her WWE main brand appearance in 2014, the night following WrestleMania XXX, and swiftly made history, defeating AJ Lee becoming the youngest Divas title ever at the age of 21.
Her bright career was cut short in 2017 when she suffered a neck injury from a Sasha Banks kick throughout a six-man tag team bout.
The British superstar resigned from on-screen in-ring action in 2018 but afterward accepted executive positions with the organization. It remains to be seen if she’ll find a way back with the company in the time to come with her neck injury failing to give her a clean bill of health for a sizeable amount of time.
We might have seen the last of her when it comes to locking heads with competitors inside the ring.
