Premier League giants Chelsea are currently facing a major dilemma with their Goal of the Month award for September 2023 as they are still yet to score a single goal this month
The Blues started off the new campaign looking to move past last season’s disappointing campaign under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Chelsea hasn't managed to score a single Premier League goal in September. Should they fail to score against Brighton on Wednesday, how will they even have a goal to select as the "Goal of the Month"?#PremierLeague #PSGOM #ChelseaFC pic.twitter.com/6XVkJkJNFx

Despite securing a new manager and going on a massive spending spree under club owner Todd Boehly, Chelsea have grossly underperformed.
The North Londoners are currently placed in 14th in the Premier League 2023/24 points table.
Chelsea on a losing streak
The Blues are currently on a 3-match losing streak after a third loss at home to Aston Villa. In fact, Chelsea have secured only one win at home in the Premier League this season against newly promoted side Luton Town. Aside from losing all their last three matches, Chelsea failed to score even a single goal in all of those three games.
In the first match, they lost 1-0 against Nottingham Forest followed by a 0-0 draw with Bournemouth. As for their third and most recent match, Aston Villa beat Chelsea 1-0. Following this disappointing series of defeats, Chelsea are now in danger of having a September Goal of the month vote without a single goal to choose from.
One final chance
The Blues have one final chance of redeeming themselves as they have just one more game before the month ends. They have one final chance to score a goal let aside a win, against Brighton in the Carabao Cup this Wednesday. Interestingly, Chelsea’s last goal came against AFC Wimbledon back on 30 August and although there was an international break, it is still not an acceptable for such a big club featuring an expensive squad of players.
Football fans troll Chelsea across social media
Unsurprisingly, plenty of football fans have gone out to troll Chelsea across social media:
One fan wrote:
Chelsea’s goal of the month is gonna be from the u23s because the senior team hasn’t scored”
Another fan wrote:
Chelsea in September: Chelsea 0-1 Nottm Forest, Bournemouth 0-0 Chelsea, Chelsea 0-1 Aston Villa. If they don’t score against Brighton on Wednesday, they won’t be able to run a Goal of the Month competition.”
