Trena Peed was a mother of five. She was dog-sitting for a pair of pit bulls in her house in Greensboro, North Carolina. She let the dogs out in her backyard, and the canines attacked the 46-year-old woman and mauled her to death.

On Thursday, at 2 a.m., she was putting her dogs out when they dragged her into the garden. Trena recently lost two of her sons in a car accident, two years apart.
In an interview with Fix 18, Trena’s 15-year-old friend and neighbour, Johnson, said, “It’s dark. All I hear is her yelling and her dogs over there attacking her. He further added, “We were real good friends. Her and my wife talked together a lot. We were just friends. It’s terrible, even if I didn’t know her at all, I don’t care who it was.”
Johnson concluded, “It’s a terrible way to go. I wish the family the best. She was doing something good and died behind it and died a tragic death.”
Family’s Reaction
As per the reports, one of Peed’s sons was sleeping inside the house when the vicious dogs attacked his mother. He woke up to the screams of his mother and saw her getting killed.
Trena’s daughter, Waynesha Peed, has made a statement and said, “Early this morning, my mom was tragically taken away from us by a vicious attack from dogs. My siblings, grandmother, family, and I are heartbroken at her sudden passing.”
One of Trena’s neighbours called 911, and the police shot one dog down immediately as they arrived at the scene. The other pit bull is in quarantine with the animal control department.
Trena’s mother, Helen Harris, was concerned about the two pitbulls for a few days. She told her daughter not to sit the dogs a few days ago. It is not clear who is the owner of the dogs yet, as no police charges have been filed. The family has started a GoFundMe page to get donations for Trena’s burial.
