On Monday, an Indian woman, Reeta Sahani, was reportedly missing. Reeta’s husband, Jakesh Sahani, claimed that when he woke up in the middle of the night, his wife was nowhere to be seen in their cabin on the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Spectrum of the Seas.
On Tuesday, her family received word of her passing after a thorough search was conducted.
The Search Operation Conducted By The Singapore Authorities
The Spectrum of the Seas’ sophisticated overboard detection system identified a situation where something had gone overboard.
The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre was promptly informed of the discovery at around 7:50 on Monday morning. The notification claimed that a passenger had gone overboard in the Singapore Strait, according to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.
The search and rescue activities have been transferred to Singapore’s Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC), according to a statement from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). They coordinated the search operation right away and informed all ships in the Singapore Strait, including those docked, of navigational safety information.
Reeta Sahani: Who Was She?
Reeta Sahani was an Indian woman who was 64 years old. She was Jakesh Sahani’s wife.
On Monday, Reeta Sahani’s son, Apoorv Sahani, expressed his displeasure with the cruise line on Twitter. He claimed that staff members on the cruise ship had notified him that his mother had fallen overboard. He criticised the company for keeping the surveillance footage to themselves and for making it seem as though they were not involved in the incident.
Apoorv Sahani, Reeta Sahani’s son, declared on Twitter that the family had obtained security footage confirming his mother’s demise. He tweeted, “With the footage, we have unfortunately learned that my mother has passed away.”
Apoorv claimed that his mother couldn’t swim and refuted the claim that she intentionally jumped overboard. He cast doubt on his worries about her activities.
