Joyce Flint was the mother of the infamous “Milwaukee Cannibal” or “Milwaukee Monster,” Jefferey Dahmer. She has been in the news because the recently released Netflix series “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” tells many hidden things about her.
Joyce Annette Flint Dahmer was her full name. Many people also fondly call her Rocky. She was born on February 7, 1936. Her parents’ names are Floyd and Lillian Flint who belonged of Norwegian and Irish descent. Reportedly, she spent her childhood in Wisconsin.
She was a teletype machine instructor. Her first ex-husband’s name was Lionel Herbert Dahmer. She had two sons and their names are Jeffrey and David. She was divorced in the late 1980s and her divorce from Lionel is known to be very bitter.
After her divorce, she moved to California and started working with AIDS patients. She also had a degree in master’s degree in counseling.
According to the new Netflix series, she was diagnosed with “postpartum psychosis,” indicating she continued to be incredibly confused, paranoid, and delusional and had lost her sense of reality.
When Did She Die?
Joyce Flint attempted suicide many times after Jeffrey Dahmer was killed in jail, but she lived. In 1994, she reportedly made an attempt at suicide. She had turned on her gas oven and left the door open when she was discovered Tuesday sleeping face down in her kitchen, according to UPI.
However, breast cancer claimed her life in 2000. When she passed away, she was 64 years old.
