A SBI bank manager named Vijay Kumar from Rajasthan got shot dead in the Kashmir’s Kulgam district, the eighth targeted killing in the Kashmir Valley since May 1

A terrorist shot dead a bank employee named Vijay Kumar on the bank premises in the state of Kashmir’s district, Kulgam on Thursday. The eighth targeted killing was held in the Valley on May 1st and the third was of a non-Muslim government bank employee. People are demanding justice against the brutality of terrorists in Kashmir with Muslims once again systematically murdering Hindus in the region.

Vijay Kumar was the manager of the Ellaqui Dehati Bank. He received a grievous gunshot injury and died on his way to the hospital. Originally a resident of the Hanumangarh in Rajasthan had joined the Kulgam branch almost a week ago. The bank manager’s killing came within 24 hours of two major incidents in the adjoining Shopian district.

He had gotten married only in February of this year and was planning a trip back home in the days coming. SBI has meanwhile extended help to his family with the national bank set to support the family financially in these arduous.

A civilian, Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, was injured in a targeted terror attack inside his home; in another incident, three soldiers were also got injured after an explosion in their vehicle. The recent attack has also come just two days after a Hindu teacher from the Jammu, Mrs. Rajni Bala, was killed by terrorists outside a school, also in district Kulgam.

The killing sent the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Union Home Minister Amit Shah into a huddle and they are believed to have discussed the security situation in the Union Territory, as The RAW chief was also present. Amit Shah will also chair a high-level meeting on Friday, 3,6,22 to take stock of the arrangements for the annual Amarnath yatra which is being held after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

Hundreds of the Kashmiri Pandits came out in Srinagar on Thursday 2,6,22 for protesting against the targeted killings. Especially the government employees have threatened to migrate to the Jammu region, putting in jeopardy a jobs package offered to them by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

To stop them from leaving Kashmir, the Union Territory authorities have put up barricades and locked the gates to transit camps where almost 4,000 Pandits reside.
