Who Is Zaheeruddin Ali Khan? Journalist dies of heart attack
On August 7, 63-year-old Zaheeruddin Khan was caught in a stampede-like situation and suffered a stroke. Due to severe chest pain, he was taken to the Russh Super Speciality Hospital in Suchitra. Upon his arrival, the journalist was declared dead.
Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, son of Mr. Muhammad Bashiruddin Ali Khan, passed away at the age of 63 and is is survived by his wife and two sons, Mr. Asghar Ali Khan and Mr. Fakhar Ali Khan. Over the past three decades, he made significant contributions in various realms – social, national, academic.
The funeral of singer Gummadi Vittal Rao was held with full state honours at Mahabodhi Vidyalaya, a Gaddar-owned school in Secunderabad’s Alwal neighbourhood. Zaheeruddin was the managing editor of The Siasat Daily.
In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Zaheeruddin was well-known for his ardent involvement in sociopolitical issues. He was also crucial to the Telangana statehood movement.
Friends And Family Mourn The Death of The Journalist
The Telangana chief minister offered his sympathies and stated that his untimely death was an “irreparable loss” to Urdu journalism. The CM recalled their friendship and Zaheeruddin Ali Khan’s contribution to the Telangana struggle.
Revanth Reddy, the chairman of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), expressed astonishment and described the tragedy as a “great loss to Telangana.” Party leader Feroz Khan and Revanth Reddy paid their tributes at Khan’s home.
G Kishan Reddy, the leader of the Telangana BJP, also offered his sympathies for the loss of Zaheeruddin Ali Khan.
A Loss For Urdu Journalism And The Muslim Community
In expressing sympathy, Telangana’s home minister, Mohammed Mahmood Ali, also expressed his heartfelt condolences. He also recalled the scholarships he had provided to students who spoke Urdu in addition to his media work.
Khan built the burial ground for Muslim dead in Hyderabad, which had not been claimed as a duty to the community.
He was commonly known as Zaheer bhai by his friends and colleagues.
The Funeral Of Zaheeruddin Ali Khan
The funeral prayer for the dead will take place on Tuesday, August 8, at Shahi Masjid, Public Gardens, following Fajr (early morning prayers).
He will be buried at his family’s cemetery, Aakhirat Manzil, on Darrusalam Road in Nampally.
