Yulia Putintseva with a huge upset at the Wimbledon championship as she knocked fan favourite Iga Swiatek out of the grass competition.
The 29-year-old Kazakhstani, who was born in Russia, defeated the Polish tennis player 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 to extend her amazing run into the fourth round.
This is Putintseva’s second victory over a World No. 1 on grass; she had previously defeated Naomi Osaka in Birmingham in 2019. She will now play Jelena Ostapenko in the next round.

Yulia Putintseva is a Russian-born Kazakhstani tennis player who was born on January 7 1995 in Moscow. The 29-year-old stands 1.63 m (5 ft 4 in) tall. While nothing is known about her relationship status, she is believed to be single and unmarried.

Yulia Putintseva is a Right-handed (two-handed backhand) player. It all started when her father introduced her to the sport and then, there was no going back.
She reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 27 in February 2017 and is a three-time major quarterfinalist (twice at the French Open and once at the US Open).
Putintseva is a winner of three WTA Tour level singles so far. She used to represent Russia before 2019 and later, she switched to Kazakhstan. The player turned pro in 2009 when she was just 14.
