The incident became public knowledge when the YouTuber, Ragu from Chinnappampatti, posted the purported act’s video on social media.
In the viral video, the Rooster is forced to be chewed by the bull in this unsettling video. It is stated that the occurrence happened in the Salem district of Tamil Nadu.
People for Cattle in India, an animal advocacy group based in Chennai, received a complaint from G Arun Prasanna, which prompted the action. According to Prasanna, the event occurred on December 22 and the footage surfaced three days ago. Prasanna informed TNIE:
Bulls used for jallikattu endure immense fear and pain during training and participation. Many bulls even lose their lives.”
In addition, he stated that during the previous six years in Tamil Nadu, 115 people and 38 bulls had perished, and that at the same time, 30 bulls and more than 8,600 people had been hurt.
Since not all bull deaths and human injuries would have been reported, these figures are likely vast underestimated.”
Arun told that he requested that Raghu and other parties be held accountable for violating the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act.
Based on the allegations, police filed a case under Indian Penal Code section 429 as well as sections 3 and 11(1)(a), 11(1)(l) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act (PCA), 1960. A police officer told, as per Free Press Journal:
We took the complaint on file and have registered a case against Raghu and two of his associates on Thursday.”
He added:
This is the first time we have come across such a case of a live animal being fed to a herbivore animal.”
