Legendary cricketer Kumar Sangakkara has made a lasting impression on the sports world. Although his prowess behind the stumps and with the bat has been widely praised, Yehali Sangakkara, the woman who accompanied him on all his tours, has an equally fascinating narrative.
Who is Yehali Sangakkara, wife of Sri Lanka cricketer Kumar Sangakkara, biography, age, family, education, birth place, net worth and Instagram
Beyond the dazzling stadium lights and boisterous spectators, Yehali Sangakkara has been a crucial part of Kumar Sangakkara’s profession by providing constant support and serving as the centre of their family’s existence.
Beginning in their early years, their relationship developed into a lifetime commitment. Throughout Kumar’s remarkable career, Yehali has been more than simply his wife; she has been a confidante, an inspiration, and a resolute supporter. Yehali has consistently been his rock, whether it was throughout his ascent in international cricket, his tenure as captain of Sri Lanka, or his move into coaching and commentary.
Born in Sri Lanka, Yehali Sangakkara attended the all-girls Kandy community’s The Hillwood College. Despite the numerous limitations, Kumar, who was enamored with Yehali, would frequently find the openings and meet her. While Yehali’s DOB isn’t known, she is aged between 40-50 years while her husband Kumar who is aged 47 has a net worth of $20 million.
Yehali eventually moved to Colombo, but Kumar’s spirit remained unfazed and he would travel a certain route to meet Yehali there. To spend time with Yehali, he would leave his house, take a different route, get off at the Market Bus Stand, and board the Kandy-Colombo bus.

In addition to this, Kumar would ask his head prefect to excuse him from a few classes so that he could meet his sweetheart, Yehali, and then head back to Asgiriya Stadium for practice.
In addition to being a gifted student, Kumar openly loved English poetry. He wrote Yehali Sangakkara letters filled with exquisite poetry when his love for her blossomed. Yehali once recollected the same thing and said he composed a collection of poems specifically for her. In addition, when Yehali moved to Colombo, Kumar would purchase Rs. 100 payphone cards every day to contact her since he was so enamoured with her.
Yehali and Kumar Sangakkara were married in 2003 and had twins, Kavith and Swyree. Yehali never missed a trip and was constantly seen supporting her husband, despite the fact that wives and girlfriends are now viewed as a major distraction for cricket players.
Kumar’s wife has been with him every step of the way since college and Yehali was always there to support him. Talking about his religion Kumar had earlier said, ‘I am Tamil, Sinhalese, Muslim and Burgher. I am a Buddhist, a Hindu, a follower of Islam and Christianity. I am today, and always, proudly Sri Lankan.
