In the last few minutes before Morocco’s game against Belgium on Sunday at the FIFA World Cup, Munir Mohand El Mohamedi El Kajoui took over for goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, know his salary and wife
Fans were surprised when Morocco’s goalkeeper was taken out of the game even though he was standing for the national anthem.
Bounou and his teammates came out of the tunnel and stood in a line for the national anthem. Then, the camera shows him shaking hands with the Belgium players like he always does. But later, Munir Mohand Mohamedi El Kajoui is shown in the official team photo taken before the game.

So quickly did the new person take over that it took BBC commentators 38 minutes to notice the change. Guy Mowbray, one of the commentators, called Mohamedi “Bono” more than once. Even though he was there for all the important people before the game, Bounou was not seen afterward. No one knows why they changed their minds.
Yassine Bounou, also known as Bono, is a professional football player from Canada and Morocco. He plays goalie for Sevilla in La Liga and for the Moroccan national team.
Bounou was born in Montreal, Quebec, and moved to Morocco when he was young. In 2011, he made his debut with Wydad Casablanca.

He played most of his career in Spain. Yassine Bounou played for Girona and Sevilla in La Liga and for Zaragoza and Girona in Segunda División. He had over 100 appearances in La Liga and 56 in Segunda División. In 2020, he won the Europa League for Sevilla.
Bounou could have represented either Canada or Morocco on the international stage, but he chose to represent Morocco. He was part of the under-20 team that went to the 2012 Toulon Tournament and played in one match.
He was also chosen to be part of the 18-person under-23 team for the Summer Olympics in 2012. During the tournament, he was only a back-up for Mohamed Amsif.
Bounou has played for his country in two FIFA World Cups and three Africa Cup of Nations since 2013.
