Yasmine Pahlavi who is a Muslim by religion is the wife of former Iranian crown prince Reza Pahlavi. She was born as Yasmine Etemad-Amini, back on July 26, 1968, in Tehran, Iran. Yasmine is currently 56 years old, and she grew up in a politically active family. However, she and her family had to relocate to the United States back in the late 1970s due to rising unrest in Iran.
Family
Yasmine is the daughter of Abdullah Etemad-Amini and Forough Eftekhari. Abdullah works as a businessman and a notable figure in the Constitutionalist Party of Iran.
Education
After leaving Iran, Yasmine Pahlavi completed her early schooling at the Notre Dame High School in California. She later completed her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Juris Doctor (JD) from George Washington University. Yasmine is currently a member of the Maryland Bar Association.
Profession and career
Yasmine Pahlavi started out her professional career as a staff attorney at the Children’s Law Center in Washington, D.C. She worked for a decade in that role, advocating for at-risk and underprivileged youth. Later in 1991, Yasmine co-founded the Foundation for the Children of Iran, with the aim to provide medical care to Iranian children regardless of background. She later stepped down from all roles in the foundation by 2014.
Yasmine Pahlavi graduated from The George Washington University in Washington, DC, obtaining a B.A. in Political Science; and later, a Doctorate in Jurisprudence from The George Washington University Law School and worked for ten years as a staff attorney for the Children’s Law Center in Washington, DC, representing the rights and cases of hundreds youth in the DC family courts system.
In 1991 she co-founded, and for 23 years was the Director of the Foundation for the Children of Iran to provide critical health care services to Iranian children or children of Iranian origin.
Marriage and children
Yasmine married Reza Pahlavi back on June 12, 1986, in Greenwich, Connecticut, after two years of dating and courtship. Yasmine was nearly 18 back then, while Reza was 25, and now have three daughters together: Noor Pahlavi (born 1992), Iman Pahlavi (born 1993, married Bradley Sherman in 2025), and Farah Pahlavi (born 2004). The whole Pahlavi family currently resides in the United States.
