In the Bundelkhand region of the state, the Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College is among the biggest government hospitals. According to fire department experts, the incident might have been caused by an electrical short circuit.

Mansuri described what had happened that night. Following the kids’ referral from the Orai district hospital for specialized care because of respiratory issues, he had taken his wife, Najma Bano, and his twin daughters to the medical college.
By the time the fire department arrived, he recalled, a number of the infants had already passed away, and subsequently, burnt carcasses were found inside the apartment.
Sanjana Kumari, who had just given birth to her first child, experienced pain instead of happiness. She said, “All I could do was watch helplessly as my baby was burned to death in front of me. The hospital’s carelessness ruined my hopes.”
The fire also claimed the life of Santoshi Devi’s baby who had taken her infant to the hospital after delivery problems. On Saturday, she recognized her baby’s body. She cried in agony, “I heard loud screams, but my baby was gone.”
Statement from the college
Of the 49 newborns admitted to the medical college SNCU, 11 have been released, and 11 have been pronounced dead, according to Narendra Singh Sengar, the institution’s principal, who spoke to the media. नफ़रत बांटने वालों को याक़ूब मंसूरी की मानवता और परोपकार के प्रति किए गए काम को देखना चाहिए और सीख लेनी चाहिए।@yuvaeksoch #Manipur pic.twitter.com/II65JKaIZI
