On Monday, Sanikommu Prabhakar Reddy, the proprietor of Varalakshmi Tiffins’ DLF Street, Gachibowli branch, and two other people were arrested for using and distributing illegal narcotics. The other two people who were arrested were Venkata Siva Sai Kumar, owner of Paleturi Pullatlu, a different breakfast establishment, and Lingampally Anuradha.
The police recovered MDMA pills, MDMA crystals totaling 50 grammes, and cocaine weighing 51.45 grammes, in addition to five mobile phones and Rs 97,500 in cash.
The Accused of Drug Dealings
According to DCP Rajendarnagar Police Jagadeeswar Reddy, Anuradha, the primary suspect, and the consumer/peddler have been purchasing narcotics in Goa for a number of years. She started delivering the drugs to Hyderabad using public transport after becoming friends with drug dealer James, who had a base in Nigeria.
She met Prabhakar and Venkata during this time and used to provide them with crystals, cocaine, MDMA, and ecstasy tablets. The three accused individuals and a few other acquaintances used to buy drugs in Goa from unidentified vendors, transfer them to Hyderabad, and then sell them to the general public. She used to sell the same narcotics for Rs 20,000 after buying 1 gramme from the Nigerian smuggler for Rs 10,000.
Prabhakar Reddy’s Connection To Drug Business
One of Anuradha’s neighbours, who also buys drugs, introduced Anuradha to Prabhakar Reddy, the proprietor of the Varalaxmi Tiffin Centre. Prabhakar Reddy made the decision to sell drugs after she revealed Hyderabad’s drug consumption and supply routes.
When Anuradha used to visit Goa, she inquired about the cost of drugs there and told Prabhakar Reddy about it. They then came up with a strategy to buy the narcotics cheaply in Goa, transfer them by private bus to Hyderabad, and then sell them at a premium to their contacts in order to make more money. They have been providing drugs in Hyderabad while contacting their friends over WhatsApp and Snapchat.
The three accused became friends when Prabhakar agreed to help Venkata start palleturu pullatlu next to the Varalakshmi Tiffin Centre. Venkata began acquiring narcotics for his own use.
Three people and three vehicles that were attempting to flee the area while pretending to be police were captured by a team of SOT Rajendranagar employees. MDMA Ecstasy pills, MDMA Crystal, and a few little sachets of cocaine were discovered by police inside the vehicle.
Under the NDPS Act, the police filed a complaint against them.
The Police Released A Statement Regarding The Arrest
Police Commissioner Stephen Ravindra stated during a press conference on Tuesday that Anuradha “became an alcoholic and used to attend pubs. She then made friends with drug dealers at these bars. She also began visiting Goa frequently to do narcotics. Along with Prabhakar Reddy and Siva, she used to offer these medications to customers in the IT corridor after purchasing them.”
They were apprehended by Mokila Police in Indrareddy Nagar, near the ORR service. Under Cr 54-2023, U-Sec 21 (C), 22 (C), and 29 of the NDPS Act, a case was filed.
