Arthur Chukwuezugo Okonkwo is a British professional football player who was born on September 9, 2001, in London, England. The 22-year-old stands 1.99 m (6 ft 6 in) tall.
A look at Arthur Okonkwo’s career
Okonkwo is currently on loan from Premier League team Arsenal to play goalkeeping for EFL League Two club Wrexham.
Before attending Lindus Park, where he joined the Arsenal Academy in 2009 as an eight-year-old, Okonkwo started his career at Hampstead Academy. While enrolled as a player for the under-15 squad, Okonkwo excelled on the bench during an under-18 Arsenal encounter, demonstrating his rapid rise through the ranks of the Arsenal academy.
He also made his debut at the age of 17 with the Arsenal under-23 team. He became a senior player for Arsenal in early July 2021, wearing number 33 for the starting squad. The 13th of July 2021 marked Okonkwo’s senior team debut. On July 29, 2022, Okonkwo went on a season-long loan to EFL League Two team Crewe Alexandra.
Okonkwo joined Sturm Graz of the Austrian Bundesliga on loan through the conclusion of the 2023–2024 season on January 16, 2023. After Ben Foster retired, he went on a season-long loan to Wrexham on September 1, 2023.
Talking about his international career, before making his under-18 debut two days before his birthday, Okonkwo represented England at the under-16 and under-17 levels. Because of his ancestry, he is still qualified for Nigeria.
