Sangeeta Phogat is a talented wrestler from Balali village in Haryana, India. She was born on 5th March 1998. Sangeeta is the daughter of renowned wrestler and coach Mahavir Singh Phogat and Daya Shobha Kaur. She has three sisters, Geeta Phogat, Babita Phogat, and Ritu Phogat, and a brother named Dushyant Phogat.
She trained hard and soon made a name for herself in the wrestling world. Her dedication and hard work paid off when she won a silver medal at the 2015 Commonwealth Wrestling Championships. She also won a gold medal at the 2016 National Wrestling Championships and a bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Sangeeta Phogat stands at a height of 165 cm (5’5″) and weighs around 55 kg (121 lbs). Her hobbies include traveling, gymming, and doing yoga. In November 2020, Sangeeta Phogat tied the knot with fellow wrestler Bajrang Punia in a traditional ceremony in Balali village, Haryana.
