In the gold medal match, Malik lost to Nigeria’s Adekuoroye 3-7. Malik won India’s first medal in the wrestling competition at the current Commonwealth Games 2022.

Who Is Anshu Malik?
Anshu Malik is a well-known Indian freestyle wrestler. She has recently been in the news because she won the silver medal at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022.
She was born on 5 August 2001 in Nidani village of Jind district, Haryana, India. His father’s name is Dharamvir Malik who is also a former international wrestler and is currently working in CISF. His mother’s name is Manju Malik who is a school teacher. She also has one brother whose name is Shubham Malik. He is also a freestyle wrestler.
She attended Chaudhary Bharat Singh Memorial Sports School in her village.
Her height is 162 cm or 5 ft 3 inches and her weight is 57 kg or 126 lbs. She is currently 20 years old.
Her Career
At the Cadet Wrestling Championships, Anshu Malik topped the podium in the 60 kg division and won the gold medal.
She won a bronze medal in the 2020 Asian Wrestling Championships in New Delhi, India, in the 57 kg division. She took up the silver medal in the women’s 57 kg division at the Serbian city of Belgrade’s 2020 Individual Wrestling World Cup that same year.
Anshu Malik won the gold medal in the Asian Wrestling Championships in 2021 alongside Vinesh Phogat and Divya Kakran. At the Oslo, Norway-hosted 2021 World Wrestling Championships, she took home the silver medal in the women’s 57 kg category.
She earned a bronze medal in the 57 kg division in April 2022 at the Ulaanbaatar Asian Wrestling Championships. She now won the silver medal at CWG 2022.
