Sobhana Asha is an Indian women’s cricket player and all-rounder who was born on March 16, 1991, in Thiruvananthapuram. The 32-year-old, who measures 5 ft 5 in tall currently plays for Angles Women, and Royal Challengers Bangalore in Women’s Premier League.

Sobhana completed her schooling from Cotton Hill Girls Higher Secondary School and graduated from Goverment College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram, kerala.
The “THAT” innings of Sachin Tendulkar in Sharjah was Asha’s first cricket experience. She made up her mind to play cricket after witnessing Sachin go bonkers against Australia.
Her initial exposure to women’s cricket came from seeing Neetu David bowl in an international match on Doordarshan channel. At twelve she went to her first district cricket trials, her parents not knowing. The meeting with the late Shabina Jacob, the former captain of the Kerala Women’s Cricket Team, during the district games was a turning point in Asha’s life.
When she was thirteen, she began playing for Kerala as a pacer. At the age of 14, she made her debut for the senior Kerala side and eventually developed into a leg spinner. She was sent to train at the MAC Spin Foundation at the age of 15 by the Kerala Cricket Association.
At the age of 16, she joined the South Zone squad, and at the age of 19, she joined Challengers. She participated in the inaugural Under-19 camp in 2008. Asha was not able to make it to the final sixteen despite being one of the selectors’ twenty probables chosen for the West Indies tour.
She played for Railways for over ten years after being selected for the team by virtue of her outstanding 2012–13 T20 season performance. After leaving the place, when she went to Puducherry to provide commentary for a men’s T20 tournament, she ran into Shweta Mishra, the coach of Puducherry and led the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy 2022.
