As per the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, a swimmer who was reported missing in Indian Shores was discovered dead on Wednesday evening according to reports.

Zhang was in the region for a swim camp, according to officials, along with his swim team from Quebec, Canada. The teen did not come back to the shore as the group was practising swim drills in the Gulf of Mexico.
According to a news release released by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office late on Wednesday night, deputies discovered Zhang deceased at approximately 5:23 p.m. local time, on Wednesday. A press release by the authorities stated:
Search efforts were conducted by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Indian Shores Police Department, Pinellas Suncoast Fire Rescue, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), and the United States Coast Guard. At approximately 5:23 p.mZhang was located and pronounced deceased.”
Further was said:
Deputies assigned to the Underwater Search and Recovery Team have located the body of the missing swimmer, 17-year-old William Zhang. According to detectives.”
Swim instructors screened swimmers for riptides and other hazards before letting them enter the water, PCSO discovered throughout their inquiry. Though rip currents were visible and the sea was turbulent on Wednesday morning, Pinellas Suncoast Fire Rescue Chief Jeffrey Davidson told FOX 13 that conditions improved later.

William Zhang of Quebec, Canada, was a 17-year-old swimmer who was found dead hours after he went missing off Indian Shores. He vanished on Wednesday morning while practising drills with other swim team members, according to deputies.
After the drill was over, the youngster did not return to the shore. Along with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the United States Coast Guard, Pinellas Suncoast Fire Rescue, Indian Shores Police Department, and the sheriff’s office, a search was initiated.
