Shohei Ohtani is the biggest baseball star and one of the most renowned individuals in Japan. His interpreter was sacked after the player’s lawyers claimed there had been a “massive theft” from the slugger’s account.
Ippei Mizuhara had accrued significant debt to a Californian bookmaker, according to multiple sources cited by ESPN. A representative for the athlete first claimed that Ohtani had sent $4.5 million to pay off Mizuhara’s debts.

However, in response to more queries from ESPN, the representative recanted their assertion and claimed Ohtani’s attorneys would provide a comment shortly.
Beyond their partnership, Ohtani and Mizuhara are close friends. Since Ohtani relocated to the Los Angeles Angels in 2018 to play for the team, Mizuhara has served as his translator. However, they have now parted ways and a new interpreter will be taking his place now.

He further wrote:
Starting tonight, Will Ireton — who had been Kenta Maeda’s interpreter in LA — will serve as Shohei Ohtani’s interpreter and Yamamoto’s in-game interpreter.”

Who is Will Ireton?
Will Ireton will be Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani’s new interpreter. Ireton will translate and communicate in-game for Yoshinobu Yamamoto in addition to acting as an interpreter for Ohtani.
Ireton began working with the Dodgers as an interpreter in 2016 and has been a member of the team ever since. During his tenure in Los Angeles, he acted as interpreter for Kenta Maeda and was well-liked by Dodgers players for his hilarious antics.
After that, Ireton moved into baseball operations and player development, taking on a number of positions including manager of performance operations and coordinator of performance. Within the Dodgers organisation, Ireton is highly esteemed and earned the moniker “Will The Thrill.”
He served as an intern for the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers before signing with the Dodgers. He participated in the 2012 World Baseball Classic as a player for the Philippines National Team.
