Who is Amir Jangoo?
Born on July 14, 1997, Amir Jangoo, whose full name is Amir Anthony Jangoo is cricketer from Trinidad. Born and raised in St. James, Trinidad, the cricketer attended St. Anthony College, Trinidad and Tobago.
Born in Trinidad, Jangoo rose through the ranks of grade cricket and fought his way into the Trinidad first-class side and earned himself a Red Force contract on the sheer weight of first-class performances alone.
Jangoo was born to Anthony Jangoo and Sultana Jangoo under the zodiac sign of Cancer and is a Muslim by religion. He has a sister named Amirah Jangoo. Though, at the time of writing this article, there isn’t much information about his family.

Career
The left-handed batter made his List A debut for the West Indies U-19 in Regional Super50 2014-15. Standing at 5 feet 8 inches, Jangoo made his first-class debut in the Regional Four Day Competition 2016-17 for Trinidad and Tobago.
At the time, he scored 32 and 71 runs on his debut. A few year later, in 2020, he was named as the squad member of Trinbago Knight Riders for the Carribbean Premier League.
The wicketkeeper made his T20 debut in September 2020 for the Trinbago Knight Riders in CPL and his ODI debut in 2024 against Bangladesh.
During his debut in the ODI, the professional cricketer made a unbeaten century and created a history for becoming the second player of West Indies to score a century in the ODI, after Desmond Haynes, who achieved this feat in 1978.
Religion
For the curious, Amir Jangoo’s jersey number is 57 and he embraces the Islam religion. Earlier, in October 2024, he was honored with National Cricketer of the Year award by the TT Cricket Board. He considers Brian Lara as his cricketing idol.
