Wendy Patrickus Ad Defence Lawer For Dahmer’s Case
Wendy Patrickus learned about the Jeffrey Dahmer case somehow and received Dahmer as her first significant case in 1991 when she was aged just 25, a year out of a law school.
Patrickus has also spoke about Dahmer in a book she and author Rusty Lemorande published in March 2022 which was titled Defending the Devil: Inside The Trial Of My Client Jeffrey Dahmer. Patrickus reveals more than 20 hours of previously unreleased private recordings of her conversations with the infamous killer.
The book also shares an insight into Dahmer’s methods of attack, the why and how of his cannibalism and the shrines built of human remains inside his apartment.
As a novice, she served as the second chair of the Dahmer jury trial, although the outcome of the case depended heavily on her openness to the murderer. According to The Cinemaholic, Wendy and Dahmer built a vital relationship that made it possible for him to confide in her about his murders. Dahmer stated his intentions on video as a result of Wendy’s efforts to get close to him, including specifics of his obsessions with cannibalism and necrophilia.
Wendy was tasked with helping to determine whether or not Dahmer was legally crazy. He was not insane, and Wendy’s bond with the murderer got stronger as the investigation progressed.
Due to her concern for Dahmer, Wendy made an effort to persuade him not to request a transfer to the general population while he was confined because she believed it would put him at risk. Although he argued that his lack of social connection was impacting him alone, Wendy’s concerns came true. A fellow prisoner, Christopher Scarver, killed Dahmer in 1994 after he was transferred to the general population.
Netflix is currently offering the entire conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes series for streaming. There is no information on Wendy’s family and if she’s married or not.
