Punam Yadav was born on the 9th of July in year 1995 and she is a professional Indian weightlifter who won a Bronze medal in the women’s 63 kg category weight class at the Commonwealth Games of 2014 held at Glasgow, where the gold medal was won by Olauwatoyin Adesanmi of Nigeria.

Punam Yadav won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games of 2018 which were held in Gold Coast, Australia. The daughter of a small farmer Punam grew up lending a helping hand to her parents in the Benaras village, India. Her height stands at 5 feet 6 inches.

Punam Yadav After three years of intense training to become an international weightlifter when Punam finally got a chance for representing India at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Her parents lacked the funds to support her. So her father sold their family buffalo to fund Punam’s trip and with her devotion and extreme efforts reached the height of success in such a state like Uttar Pradesh where sports as a carrier is impossible in this scenario being a girl taking a carrier as a future aspect was very much challenging.

Punam’s skills and abilities took her to Massive name and fame. She also joined the BHU KASHI VIDHYA PEETH for her undergraduate courses.

Punam Yadav is a multiple Asian junior medalist as well as a Commonwealth junior champion who this year broke her dream of getting gold. The Indian weightlifter Punam Yadav looked distraught when her third attempt in Clean and Jerk was called invalid by the jury during the women’s 76 kg final on Tuesday (August 2.8.22).

Punam Yadav was given the Yash Bharati award by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in year 2015 for weightlifting.
