Who is Walter Mazzarri?
Walter Mazzarri is an Italian former football player and manager who was born on October 1, 1961 in San Vincenzo, Italy. He is now the head coach of the Italian Serie A team Napoli for the second time. The 62-year-old measures 1.77 m (5 ft 10 in) tall.
A look at Walter Mazzarri’s career
Walter Mazzarri managed a few minor teams before to taking over as manager of Sampdoria in 2007 after playing for several Italian teams for 14 years, including Empoli and Reggiana.
In 2009, he became a member of Napoli and helped to form the 3–4–3 formation that would become his trademark. He joined Inter in 2013, but midway through his second season there, he was let go. He went on to manage Torino in Serie A and Watford in the Premier League of England for one season in 2016–17. Meanwhile, the Italian is back again to Napoli. After a modest playing career, Mazzarri started his coaching journey at Acireale in the Italian third division in 2001 before joining Pistoiese and Livorno and moved on to Reggina but made his name at Sampdoria, where he guided the club to the 2009 Coppa Italia Final and into Europe during two seasons there.
His most successful time as a manager was with Napoli where he won the Coppa Italia in 2012, led them to second in Serie A the season after and got the club into the Champions League for the first time in their history.

As per CBS Sports, Mazzarri is set to sign a short-term deal for seven months that will last until the summer of 2024, at which point Napoli is expected to select a new coach.
