Managerial career
Vitor Pereira started out his career at the junior level midway through the 2004-05 season, with Sanjoanense in the third division. He then worked with Espinho in the same league and then returned to Porto’s juniors for another season. He then worked as the head coach for Santa Clara in the Segunda Liga in 2008.
Over the years, he has taken charge of several other clubs, including Shanghai SIPG, Olympiacos, Corinthians, and Flamengo. He is currently leading Saudi club Al Shabab after joining them in February 2024.
While his Wolverhampton salary isn’t known, as the coach of the Chinese League club, Shanghai SIPG, he was paid 7.5 million euros for a year or equivalent to Rp 120 billion and has a net worth of $20-30 million.
Pereira is a manager who adapts to the quality of his players, although he seems to prefer to build through the third in wide areas, perhaps an area where Wolves are not the strongest at the moment.
At Fenerbahce, he played more of a 3-4-3 but they were fifth when he was sacked after just five months.
Pereira played 4-3-3 during his time at Porto, although it was not uncommon to build up with a 3-2-5 structure in attack.
