Danish Malewar scores a century in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 final
Upcoming Vidarbha batting sensation, Danish Malewar, scored an impressive century at the ongoing 2024-25 Ranji Trophy final against Kerala. The young right-handed batter smashed a century at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur, helping his side recover from early setbacks. Malewar scored an impressive total of 168 balls.
Vidarbha started out the game losing three wickets for just 24 runs in 12.5 overs. Kerala pacer MD Nidheesh managed to dismiss Parth Rekhade and Darshan Nalkande, while Eden Apple Tom dismissed Dhruv Shorey. However, Malewar stepped in as the 4th batter and managed to hit back, showing great resilience with a brilliant counterattack. During the fifth over, Malewar managed to score a six to move to 99 runs before following up with a four to hit over a century.

Danish Malewar, full name Danish Vishnu Malewar, is a young and upcoming Indian cricketer who was born on October 8, 2003 in a Hindu family in Nagpur. He is currently 21 years old and mainly plays as a right-handed batter. He made his debut for Vidarbha back in October 2024 during a match against Andhra Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy. Danish scored his maiden first-class century against Gujarat back in November 2024, scoring a total of 115 runs off 228 balls.
His father, Vishnu Malewar, is a cricket fan who had dreamed of making his son a cricketer even before his birth but coming from a lower-middle-class background, he knew the journey would be challenging.
Malewar’s performances have been crucial for Vidarbha in the tournament, proving his ability to deliver in high-pressure situations. His composed batting and ability to build innings indicate that he is a rising star to watch in Indian domestic cricket.
The batter made his domestic debut mid-season in the Ranji Trophy against Andhra and impressed with a second-innings knock of 61 while batting at number three and he followed it up with scores of 56, 42, and 59 before hitting his maiden First-Class century (115) against Gujarat in Nagpur.
