Who is Nosthush Kenjige?

Nosthush Pradeep Kenjige is an American cricket player who was born on March 2, 1991, in Auburn, Alabama, United States. The 33-year-old is a left-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler with his height at 5 feet 9 inches.

He did his engineering in Bengaluru before he went to pursue his career in cricket. 

Born in Atlanta, he spent most of his formative years in Bangalore, India where he played for his District, University and Zonal teams. When Nosthush left India to return to the country of his birth to pursue a career as a bio-medical engineer, he had given up his dream of playing cricket.

He moved to his ancestral home of Tamil Naidu in India as a young child. He has finally made a home for himself in Brooklyn, New York. He is a Christian by religion.

A look at Nosthush Kenjige’s career 

In the 2017 ICC World Cricket League Division Three in Uganda, he made his debut for the US national team in May of 2017. He worked as a Bio-Medical officer before he went to the USA from ICC’s WCL Division 4.

He made his List A debut in the 2017–18 Regional Super50 on January 31, 2018, when the United States made its debut versus the Leeward Islands.

He was named to the U.S. team for the March 2024 Twenty20 International series against Canada. He made his USA T20I debut on April 7, 2024, against Canada.

He was selected to play in the US Minor League Cricket competition in June 2021 following the players’ draft. 

He was a left-arm medium pacer till he learned to spin at the age of 13. He had moved to Ooty with his parents when he was a small child. Kenjige’s parents sent him to Bengaluru after he turned eighteen, where he played in the KSCA’s first-level competition.

Kenjige is the most physically fit player on the USA team both presently and in the past, and he has one of the highest yo-yo test readings in the world (21). He also has a strong work ethic which is currently in action which was seen recently against Pakistan.
