Who is Akshay Totre?

Akshay, a 36-year-old umpire, comes from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He has overseen 42 T20 games and 22 List A matches in First-Class cricket. Additionally, he officiated six 2023 Indian Premier League matches. With the warm up match between New Zealand and Pakistan, he recently made his umpiring debut in the World Cup, on September 29, Friday.

Akshay also worked as an umpire for the Indian Premier League 2022. He was chosen for the IPL for the first time.

The ICC World Cup 2023 warm-up games will started on September 29 on Friday. In Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, and Guwahati, three games will be contested and At Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Pakistan took on New Zealand where the Akshay Totre and Shreyas Iyer meme gained several attentions.

For the Thursday optional training session, as many as 10 players, including two travelling reserves, showed up at the pitch. Less than 48 hours before their opening World Cup warm-up match against New Zealand, Pakistan arrived in Hyderabad. They understood exactly what needed to be done.

The optional practise for the New Zealand team, according to PTI, was a mere sideshow. Only Daryl Mitchell and Mark Chapman attended practise due to a second group of New Zealand cricketers arriving in Hyderabad late on Wednesday night.
